Ways to a WELL Family

Stephanie Maurel, Parenting Coaching and owner of Family Wellness Consulting

WELL-Wonderfully and Energetically Loving Life TM

1. Smile at the person who walks in the room- Your child, husband, wife… This is a simple way to show the people in your life that they are seen and valued. A little goes a long way!

2. Write a “things I like about my family” list- this is a simple way to bring to your awareness the many positive aspects of your family and places you in a space of gratitude.

3. Step away from the comparisons- Every family is different. Stop comparing your family to others, which is like comparing apples and pears. You are both fruits (families), but not the same fruit! If you are apples, strive on being the best apples you can be!

4. Surround yourself with positivity- Create a positive home environment and family structure. Use positive affirming language with each other; fill your space around you with things that make you feel good; Take some advice from Maya Angelou: she has a sign at her door that says no negativity is allowed in the house. She says that if people speak negatively in her house she asks them to step outside!

5. Do a little every day- It can be hard to transform your family in one go. And you don’t have to. Rome was not built in a day! Every day try and implement a little more positivity, calm, and peacefulness in the home, even if it starts out in moments, eventually you can stretch it to minutes, and then to hours.
