Sharon Atkins is editor of Parenting Hub. After spending many years in a corporate retail environment Sharon discovered a talent for writing and photography and now works on these both full time. She is also a Mother of two children and has a great interest and passion for all things that are related to health and well- being.

Jacky Knickelbein is the owner of the busy Mothers and Miracles Educational Workshop franchise in Sunset Beach & Melkbos. She is passionate about learning and is currently working towards her qualification as an Educational Psychologist. She is co-founder of the Mothers Group which meets at the Milnerton Med-clinic and a proud mom of two children. Her years of experience in working with children have lead her child-centred approach and one in which she endeavors to empower parents with knowledge and inspiration.

Nanny Dee

Nanny Dee is a teacher and trainer and has a wealth of knowledge in childcare, education and general baby and toddler development, honed over 25 years. She has helped countless parents through her practical, no- nonsense way of dealing with problems.

She is dedicated to helping babies and children and their parents in all issues ranging from potty training, sleep tips, whining, tantrums, bedtime routine and discipline.

Kath Megaw

Kath Megaw runs a busy paediatric dietetic practice in Wynberg. Her areas of speciality include, but are not limited to, latest weaning practices, breastfeeding advice, colic, reflux, allergy diets, failure to thrive and overweight children, fussy eating, constipation and irritable bowel syndrome. She also works with special needs children; ADHD, diets for children with autism, ketogenic diet for epilepsy, inborn errors of metabolism, cerebral palsy and feeding disorders.

Nanny Training

Daniele Milner is the founder of the South African Childcare and Firstaid Centre which provides training and advice in childcare and first aid to parents, schools, nannies and au pairs. She also teaches CPR and First Aid Classes for the Community. Daniele gives talks at both the Intercare hospital in Parklands, at Netcare Blaauwberg and at the Kingsbury support groups. She is trained to do assessments for post natal depression and was recently invited to attend a course at the Parent Centre in parenting and leadership. CPR AND FIRST AID COURSES :
30th July 9am - 2pm
13th August 9am - 2pm
17th September 9am - 2pm
All of the above are scheduled at Cape Town Medi Clinic. The cost is R250 per person and includes a certification card and manual . If you are a member of the Vitality Scheme through Discovery , you will be awarded points on completion of the course .

Training takes place every Thursday morning from 9h30 - 11h30 , excepting the day that cpr and first aid is covered . Four sessions need to completed in order to receive your certificate and manual .
Course Content : Safety and hygiene , childcare , nutrition , age appropriate stimulation and development , creating positive boundaries and cpr and first aid . Cost is R1500 payable at Me-Time .

We also have Nanny Training at Cape Town Medi Clinic which is on every Tuesday morning from 09h30 - 11h30
